We accept applications for the String Sprouts through the first week of classes — usually the second week of September. For interested students outside of our enrollment period, we offer an interest form so you can get notified as soon as the enrollment period opens back up.

Participating in Sprouts

Because String Sprouts is funded through philanthropy, we follow guidelines that consider the size of a household as well as its income when determining how much financial assistance the family will receive.

Time Commitment

We are so happy you are interested in enrolling in String Sprouts! Growing a young musician takes time and practice. Before you apply, make sure you can:

  • Attend a one-hour class with your Sprout once per week.
  • Dedicate at least 10 minutes per day to practicing with your Sprout.
Age Requirements

New applicants for String Sprouts should be aged 3-6 years. Please make sure your child meets the following requirements:

  • Your Sprout is at least 3 years old by April 1 this year.
  • Your Sprout is not entering first grade.
Locations

Our local String Sprouts programs run at organizations in Omaha and Scottsbluff, Nebraska, and in Council Bluffs, Iowa. If you are not near one of these cities but are still interested in being part of the String Sprouts program, please visit our National site for more information.

Tuition Refund Policy

A family who wishes to withdraw from the Sprouts program must provide written notice to stringsprouts@omahacm.org. Refund amounts are as follows:

  • 100% refund: Withdraw before Week 1 of classes
  • 50% refund: Withdraw before Week 3 of classes
  • No refund: Withdraw in Week 3 and beyond
